CampGearHub was born from a simple frustration: why should professional-grade camping calculations require expensive apps or subscriptions? Every outdoor enthusiast deserves access to accurate, easy-to-use tools that help them plan safer, more enjoyable trips.

We believe the wilderness should be accessible to everyone. That's why all our calculators, analyzers, and in-depth guides are completely free. No paywalls. No premium tiers. No catch.

Our Story

It started on a rainy night in the Cascades. Marcus was shivering in his tent, wondering if his sleeping bag was actually rated for the temperatures he was experiencing. He searched for a simple calculator that could tell him if he'd packed appropriately—but every tool he found was buried in an app, behind a paywall, or just didn't work properly.

That frustration sparked an idea. What if there was a free, beautiful, actually-useful resource for campers to plan their trips? What if every calculation was based on real science and not marketing temperature ratings?

CampGearHub launched in 2024 with just five tools and a handful of articles. Today, we offer 30+ professional calculators and 40+ in-depth guides—all completely free, all designed to help you get outside smarter and safer.
